Erzählung The Call - Leg nicht auf! (2013):
Jordan Turner arbeitet als Operator bei der Polizeinotrufnummer 911 von Los Angeles. Eines Tages führt ein fataler Fehler von Jordan dazu, dass ein Mädchen während seines Notrufs von einem Einbrecher getötet wird. Sechs Monate nach dem Vorfall versucht Jordan noch immer, diese grausame Erfahrung zu verarbeiten, als sie erneut vor eine ähnliche Situation gestellt wird. Die junge Casey ruft aus dem Kofferraum eines Autos an, nachdem sie von einem Unbekannten entführt wurde. Zahlreiche Versuche Jordans, dem Teenager am Telefon zu helfen, schlagen fehl. Als ihre Kollegen auch noch die Spur des Fluchtfahrzeugs verlieren, muss Jordan handeln. Denn mit jeder Sekunde, die verstreicht, sinkt die Wahrscheinlichkeit, Casey lebend retten zu können.
